The 6th “Street Mode Festival”, the biggest youth festival in Greece, concerning street culture, completed with great success at the Port of Thessaloniki.
The audience had the chance to enjoy a free of charge program involving contests and exhibitions of graffiti, street art, breakdance, street dance and parkour-freerunning. DJ sets and parallel activities also took place during the day and the program reached its peak late at night with concerts on the 2 stages of the festival (Hip Hop Stage and Live Stage).
The arrival of the people was greater than ever! It is estimated that in the afternoon more than 6.000 people attended at the area of the fest, as well as more than 10.000 people passed by during the whole day.
“Street Mode Festival” exist in the framework of the events “Thessaloniki – European Youth Capital 2014” and is organized by Giannis Efstathiou (Nox1).
In the graffiti action of the festival young graffiti artists along with the eldest created their pieces in a friendly “Υoung Bloods VS Old School” graffiti battle. The writers who ripped on the two wooden walls especially builted for the event were: Jorz, Nade, Nast, Rasel, Rino, Jone 50, Omle, Twis, Koko, ΤΡΖΣ, Snuz, Zep, Epsilon, Spent1, Sinotwo, Inoks, Side, Bentol, Nor, Miste και Sorc.
In another specially designed area of the port parkour-freerunning, balanceboard and slack line stuff were placed for everyone who were there and wanted to learn or practise their skills with the guidance of experts. The action closed with the best way, with a parkour-freerunning demonstration show by the best athletes in the field.
The breakdance competition took place in the Hip Hop Stage where 16 dancers battled for the win, in an 1 VS 1 kind of battle. The first position and the 200 euro prize was won by b-boy Revo while the second position and the 100 euro prize was won by b-boy Zoob. The judges were: Sakill, Kelment and Cut1 while DJ of the contest and also the whole of the fest was Kid Stretch. In the breaks between the contests, the street dance crews MotherFunkerz, Drama Queens, Seven Souls and Jafrican Ting Crew impressed the audience by presenting unique choreographies.
Later at night, the contests were followed by live concerts on both stages (Hip Hop Stage & Live Stage) from Imiskoumbria, Bad Movies, Anima Nation, Jaw Bones, Allergic and Banksters. The stages were overflowed by people who wanted to experience the concerts of their favourite artists.
